PROFILE: I have contributed articles, op-eds, reviews and humor pieces to several Bay Area publications primarily related to social and political issues, nationally and locally. I have also copy edited stories for factual correctness, grammar, spelling, punctuation and style.

EXPERIENCE

Street Sheet – April 2002 to present. Assistant editor/Lead reporter since November 2014. Biweekly newspaper published by the Coalition on Homelessness-San Francisco, CA.

SF Homeless Project – June 2016. Over 70 media organizations dedicated to covering causes of and solutions to homelessness in San Francisco Bay Area (special to San Francisco Examiner).

SF Public Press – Nov. 2009 to Feb. 2014. Nonprofit news organization dedicated to public-interest journalism through print and interactive media not supported by advertising.

InTheFray – Sept. 2009 to April 2010. Monthly online publication exploring global issues through personal perspectives and critical analysis (Copy editor).

Newsdesk.org – June to Nov. 2008. Website featuring News You Might Have Missed, a weekly newsletter published by Independent Arts & Media, reporting items underreported in major outlets.

City College of San Francisco student publications – Jan. 2007 to Dec. 2007. Etc. Magazine – Writer/Copy Editor. Sept. 2006 to May 2008. The Guardsman – Writer/Copy Editor.

Poor Magazine – Aug. 2001 to present. Multimedia publication dedicated to issues related to poverty.

AccessSF – Nov. 1998 to June 2000. Crew member of San Francisco cable access Channel 26. Served as cameraman, board operator and director.
