TJ Johnston is an experienced freelance journalist based in San Francisco.
With almost two decades of reporting and editing for outlets such as Street Sheet, Street Spirit and SF Public Press, he has also had his work appear in The Huffington Post, KQED News, 48 Hills, San Francisco Bay View, Center for Public Integrity and the International Network of Street Papers.
TJ’s coverage on homelessness has focused on public policy, civil rights and human interest issues.
TJ has also contributed to the SF Homeless Project with pieces running in the San Francisco Examiner; He has also conducted peer-based research for nonprofit organizations, including the San Francisco-based Coalition on Homelessness and Tipping Point Community.
